Jeremy Clarkson revealed things were not going to plan despite his jovial mood when he tuned into the UEFA Euro 2024. During Wednesday evening, the Clarkson's Farm star remained hopeful for Gareth Southgate's side as England took on Slovenia in Cologne.

But moments into the match the 64 year old suggested his girlfriend Lisa Hogan was not too keen on watching the game. It comes after he previously took to the micro-blogging site to throw his support behind the squad.

In view of his 8 million X followers, he tweeted: "Good luck England." He was inundated with supportive messages as football fans rallied around the Clarkson's Farm star and echoed the same sentiment.

Just minutes later, Jeremy shared his despair, in a five-word retort: "Lisa is not interested. Annoying."

His followers flocked to comment on the post as some social media users appeared to agree with the former Top Gear star's other half.

One person tweeted: "I'm not interested either." A second quipped: "My wife's name is also Lisa, also no interest, it’s a name thing."

A third joked: "Yeah, neither is Southgate by the looks of it."

While a fourth commented: "I'm watching with hope, but not much expectation."

Another argued: "She’d probably rather watch paint dry." A sixth joked: "Lisa has taste. It’s not rugby."

Another jokingly queried: "In you or the match?"

A social media user added: "She’s busy putting stuff in the shop that’s further than 15 miles from your farm."

England remained top of their group after Southgate's team sealed a 0-0 draw against Slovenia in last night's game.

The Three Lions had already made it through to the last-16 stage with a game to spare, but last night's match means they will avoid France, Spain, Germany and Portugal - and will either face the Netherlands, Czech Republic, Turkey or Georgia at 5pm on Sunday.

Meanwhile, Jeremy's girlfriend Lisa, who hails from Dublin in Ireland, recently dished on the couple's wedding plans.

She has been dating the presenter since 2017, but doesn't think a marriage is on the cards for the couple. Speaking on RTÉ Radio 1 last Sunday, Lisa explained that a wedding isn't "important" to her and how Jeremy "persuaded" her to date him.

Presenter Miriam O'Callaghan asked Lisa: "Farms can be a great place to get married. Might you ever propose to Jeremy?"

Yet Lisa was quick to dismiss the idea as she explained: "I would say the only husbandry happening on the farm at the moment is with Ajax, who is our boar, and we've just put him back in with the sows!"

The Dublin star added: "At this stage in your life, I think, it's not an important thing as much as it would have been a couple of decades ago."
