With long security lines, crowded terminals, and the pressure to make it to your gate on time, it’s easy to get flustered at the airport. However, a travel expert has revealed one colour that you should wear when flying that can make the travel day smoother and less anxiety-inducing.

According to experts from Airplane Tips, one should wear red to the airport as it can give you an edge when going through security lines and catching the attention of airline staff.

The experts claimed that one of the main psychological effects of the color red is its ability to grab attention.

They said: “When we see the color red, it immediately captures our focus and stands out from its surroundings. This can be particularly useful at airports, where there is a lot of visual stimuli and distractions.

“By wearing red, you can ensure that you won’t go unnoticed, whether you’re trying to catch the attention of a friend or a flight attendant.

“Studies have shown that the color red is associated with increased perceived attractiveness.

"In one study published in the Journal of Experimental Psychology, researchers found that women wearing red were rated as more attractive and sexually desirable compared to women wearing other colors.

“This effect can also extend to men, as red has been associated with dominance and power.

"So, if you want to make a lasting impression at the airport, don’t shy away from incorporating some red into your outfit.”

The experts claimed that airline staff are more likely to treat passengers dressed in red with extra care and attention. This phenomenon, known as the “red dress effect,” has been observed in various studies.

They added: "Airline staff may subconsciously perceive passengers in red as more important or of higher status, leading to enhanced customer service experiences.

"So, if you want to receive top-notch treatment during your travels, consider incorporating red into your airport attire."
