Zion Williamson sends Duke fans into MELTDOWN after doing this against Syracuse
ZION WILLIAMSON took all of two minutes to prove to everyone that he is 100 per cent back from injury in Duke's ACC quarter-final against Syracuse, and fans couldn't get enough of it.
Zion Williamson plays with ‘reckless abandon’ says Smith
A number of pundits and former players expressed some concern about Williamson returning from a knee injury to play in the ACC tournament with the intention of trying to win a national championship with Duke.
The 18-year-old is projected to be the No 1 pick in this year's NBA draft, meaning several teams will be watching with bated breathe how he performs.
But any concerns over any niggling issues from his knee injury were quickly evaporated during the opening minutes of Duke's ACC quarter-final against Syracuse.
After stealing the ball away from Frank Howard, Williamson broke away down the court before exploding at the rim for a trademark dunk.
And Duke fans couldn't hide their excitement at seeing the teenage sensation back on the court flying through the air.
One fan tweeted: "Zion Williamson is officially back. Welcome back Zion."
Another said: "Imagine thinking Zion Williamson is not the best player in college basketball."
A third posted: "We missed you Zion."
A fourth added: "Zion Williamson should be in the running for a one-seed by himself."
Williamson may have made a name for himself with his ability to fly through the air for some ridiculous dunks, but it has been his overall game which has been most impressive.
The teenage sensation shot a perfect nine-for-nine in the first half, while also recording a remarkable five steals and nine rebounds.
And he clearly isn't interested in resting his body with the NBA draft just around the corner.
"For the people that think I should just stop playing in college and just focus on the NBA, thanks, but no thanks," he said.
"I'm not really worried about that. Like, I'm just trying to be Zion and just play the game I love."
