LeBron James: Kevin Durant and Klay Thompson NOT joining Lakers, THIS player is better
LEBRON JAMES has been told it will be extremely unlikely that either Klay Thompson or Kevin Durant join him at the Los Angeles Lakers this summer, but they should focus their attentions elsewhere.
LA Lakers 'made MISTAKES with their signings' says pundit
Barring a miracle run to the end of the regular season, the Lakers will not reach the playoffs meaning their offseason plans will begin early.
It’s far from what the Lakers were hoping for with the franchise aiming to reach the playoffs for the first time since 2013.
But all attention will now likely turn on who they can acquire this summer with a host of names linked.
Kevin Durant and Klay Thompson are just a few of the potential free agents linked with joining the Lakers.
However, WNBA legend Candace Parker doesn’t see why the Golden State Warriors duo would leave their current situation.
Another option for the Lakers will be to make a splash in the trade market, and it is expected they will try again for Anthony Davis.
But Parker believes the Lakers should be doing everything they can to try and strike a deal with the Washington Wizards for Bradley Beal.
“I think it depends on the fit but they’re going to have to do something through either free agency or through the trade market to get him a robin to his Batman," she said on The Dan Patrick Show.
“Klay Thompson is in the absolute perfect situation for him. It doesn’t seem like he would want to leave, nor should he.
“The same I’d say for KD. Obviously it’s up in the air where he’s going to go but when you’re trying to win a championship and your playing one of the biggest stars in Steph Curry, I don’t know why you would leave a No 1 team.
“But I do believe they’re going to attract somebody.
“I’m not huge on Kawhi going there to play with LeBron.
“I said from the get-go that if there was a way for them to get a Bradley Beal to play with the Lakers… I really like his fit.
“I know he’s under contract and obviously with John Wall being out I don’t know if they’re going to trade him now, but I like that sort of superstar.
“Yes he went to the NBA Finals and won a championship with Kyrie Irving but he just needs pieces around him where, especially at this point in his career, he’s going to be able to get to the paint at will.
“He needs people that are going to be able to knockdown shots and get a shot for themselves and that’s what Bradley Beal does. I really love his game and think he would be fantastic with the Lakers.”
