LeBron James slams team-mates after Grizzlies loss
LeBron James has hit out at his Los Angeles Lakers team-mates for having their minds elsewhere during their 105-110 loss to the Memphis Grizzlies on Monday night.
Speaking after the match, James said: “If you’re still allowing distractions to affect the way you play then this is the wrong franchise to be a part of and you should just come in and be like, ‘Listen, I can’t do this.’
“Like seriously, if you’re distracted by playoff pushes and all the stuff that’s been talked about this year.
“Just come and do your job. We do our job at a high level.
"That’s not a distraction - that’s what you want. You want to feel like you’re fighting for something.”
LeBron James - Anthony Davis revelation made
The chemistry in the Lakers’ dressing room was ‘killed’ by James during the Anthony Davis trade saga, according to an NBA executive.
If you’re still allowing distractions to affect the way you play then this is the wrong franchise to be a part of
"He [James] killed the [Lakers'] chemistry," the NBA exec Bleacher Report. "He shouldn't have been so public about it.
“Even during the All-Star draft, he laughed about [wanting Davis to be his teammate]."
It’s understood that Davis is still keen on leaving the New Orelans Pelicans for pastures new.
LeBron James playoffs claim made by expert
NBA: LeBron James SLAMMED for role in loss to Grizzlies
NBA expert Tas Melas has claimed James knows his Lakers team-mates aren’t good enough to make the playoffs.
“I think he’s understanding that they’ve dug themselves too big a hole to make the post-season,” Melas said. “I think he’s realised they’re not good enough.
“You play the Pelicans on the second night of a back to back with no Anthony Davis and you get killed in the first quarter, allowing 42 points, you get blown out of the building, that was a cherry.
“That game should have been an easy one for them to win. It’s going to be really tough to overturn that three-game deficit that they have. And he understands that.”
