LeBron James: Lakers sent major WARNING - 'They would be foolish to do this'
LOS ANGELES LAKERS would be foolish to play LeBron James in all 82 games this season.
That’s according to NBA expert Nick Wright.
The 33-year-old played all 82 games last season for the Cleveland Cavaliers the first time in his illustrious career.
James has also started every game so far this season for the Lakers.
However, Lakers president Magic Johnson and coach Luke Walton have expressed concerns about James burning out.
I don’t think he’s going to play all 82 this year. It would be foolish if he did
And Wright says the Lakers must not be foolish and overwork James, claiming they must look at the bigger picture.
“Last year I think it was an ego thing,” Wright said on First Things First.
“The Cavs needed him in every game and they were fighting at one point to even make the playoffs.
“But I also think LeBron wanted that on his resume - ‘Year 15, I played all 82 games’.
LeBron James has a lot of influence on signings says expert
“I don’t think he’s going to play all 82 this year. I think it would be foolish if he did.
“The question that nobody knows - and we know father time is coming - is will it catch up to him earlier if he plays 34 minutes instead of 38?
“Or is it just going to be an age thing? At 37, will he hit the wall then? Or could he go until 38 if he plays 32 minutes a game.
“They don’t know and they’re trying to balance what they don’t know with what they need right now.”
The Lakers are back in action on Wednesday evening against the San Antonio Spurs.
