NBA news: LeBron James SLAMMED, Anthony Davis to Lakers close, Kevin Durant drops hint
NBA news - LeBron James, Anthony Davis and Kevin Durant dominate the latest rumours and gossip coming out of the league.
LeBron branded 'pathetic' over Kyrie Irving claim by pundit
LeBron James slammed
LeBron James has been slammed for his comments on the Cleveland Cavaliers’ demise following the Kyrie Irving trade.
The Los Angeles Lakers superstar said: “Everyone knows that when Kyrie got traded, it was the beginning of the end for everything. It’s not a secret.”
And Fox Sports’ Skip Bayless has hit out at James for his recent remark, claiming the 33-year-old is looking for sympathy.
He said: “This whole story is just pathetic. Kyrie was asked at his shoot-around what he thought of this same story and he just shrugged and said, ‘You know what I’ve moved on.’
I was upset, but I know that I can’t hold on to something like this
“And LeBron should have said when asked these questions about what happened in the past in Cleveland, ‘I’ve moved on. Let it be, let it lay.’
“You’ve got your two Brentwood estates, you’ve got Staples [Center], you’ve got LA and a hot young team with some vets. Everything’s okay, onward and upward.
“But LeBron just can’t help himself, he constantly needs to rewrite history with his sympathetic spin on it.
“He has to revise history so that everybody says, ‘Oh poor LeBron.’ He needs to keep feeding the gullible witnesses out there these loads of baloney because he knows they’ll swallow it and say, ‘Poor pitiful LeBron.’”
Anthony Davis to Lakers development
Anthony Davis is just an email away from joining the Lakers now he is a client of Klutch, journalist Anthony Irwin claims.
“You have to wipe out the entire roster,” Irwin said on the Locked on Lakers podcast.
“You have those three guys, maybe a couple of draft picks if there’s room for them there.
“But you have to wipe out almost the entire roster and then surround them with veteran-minimum type contracts.
LeBron James doesn't need a star this season says Broussard
“Those three guys are good enough to make it work but that’s a very different way of building a team than the Lakers have done over the last six, seven years.
“This KD stuff is really fascinating… there’s a lot of smoke swirling around that team.
“His play has really fallen off since Dray called him the b-word and that’s worth monitoring.
“It’s worth monitoring how New Orleans plays over the course of the season because if they continue to decline and say AD starts getting frustrated… he’a a Klutch client. That’s an e-mail away from LeBron.
“Because they’re under the same management it’s really easy to tamper and as we saw last year, I’m sure Magic probably did a little bit of tampering with LeBron.”
Kevin Durant speaks out
Kevin Durant insists his bust-up with Draymond Green will not affect the rest of Golden State’s season - or his free agency decision next summer.
“Nah, [it won’t factor]. Because at the end of the day, I’m just a ballplayer that’s just trying to be in a great environment to play basketball and groom my skills every day,” Durant, who was seen mouthing ‘this is why I’m out’ after his spat with Green, told Yahoo Sports.
“And I want to compete on a level that once the game starts, I’m just totally comfortable with my surroundings, with just going out there and being me.
“I was upset, but I know that I can’t hold on to something like this.
“I know that I’ve got to make a choice with myself, like how long are you going to be upset about this to the point where you’re going to let it affect what you do on the floor or how you approach the game?
“Once it gets there now, I got to make a grown-man decision and tell myself, ‘Look, man, no matter what, you still got to come to work every single day. It’s going to work out. It’s going to figure itself out.’
“And I think everyone’s been handling it the best way they could and we’re just trying to move forward with it.”
