Arsenal transfer news: Lucas Torreira's father reveals when he will undergo medical
ARSENAL transfer target Lucas Torreira will undergo his medical after the World Cup, his father Ricardo claims.
The Sampdoria midfielder is set to complete his move to Arsenal this summer.
The Gunners will fork out around £27m (€30m) for the 22-year-old.
Uruguay international Torreira, who has impressed at the World Cup in Russia this summer, is preparing to face France in the quarter-finals.
And Torreira's father Ricardo has opened up on the midfielder’s future, revealing he’ll head to London for a medical after the World Cup.
“I want the best for my son and I also know that Arsenal showed a lot of interest in him,” he told Radio Crc.
“It’s not done, neither is it official, because he hasn’t signed anything, but there’s a great chance that Lucas’ future will be in England.
As the World Cup ends, he’ll go to London for a medical
“There was no problem in the negotiations, and the latest is that as soon as the World Cup ends, he’ll go to London for a medical.”
Should Arsenal sign Torreira this summer, he will become Unai Emery’s second signing.
The defensive midfielder will follow Stephen Lichtenstein and Bernd Leno to the Emirates.
Emery has been vocal on Arsenal’s transfer plans, with the 46-year-old revealing he hopes to develop the current squad.
