REAL MADRID captain Sergio Ramos was NOT to blame for Mohamed Salah’s injury in the Champions League final.
Lampard and Ferdinand defend Ramos over Salah injury
That is the opinion of BT Sport pundits Frank Lampard and Rio Ferdinand.
Liverpool star Salah tangled with Ramos midway through the final in Kiev.
As the pair fell to the turf, Salah landed awkwardly on his shoulder and was forced off minutes later in tears.
But Chelsea legend Lampard says there was no blame on the Real Madrid defender’s part, claiming it was pure bad luck for the Egyptian forward.
“No, I don’t think so (there is any blame),” Lampard said.
I think it was more unfortunate in the end in the way he fell
“Listen, he’s got close, which any defender should do.
“Sometimes when you do make contact you do interlink arms.
“I think it was more unfortunate in the end in the way he fell.”
Ramos was filmed laughing with an assistant referee while Salah was being substituted by Liverpool.
Liverpool fans QUIET after Mo Salah goes down on the pitch
But Manchester United legend Ferdinand doubts it was anything to do with the incident.
“I wouldn’t associate the two things there,” he said.
“What I would say is I thought it was very good defending from Ramos.
“I don’t think he really meant to do that.”
