Manchester United signed Bebe back in 2010 with few having heard of the then 20-year-old at the time.
The winger was unveiled alongside Chris Smalling and Javier Hernandez as United plotted a title challenge after losing the trophy to Chelsea the previous season.
Bebe, however, is not fondly remembered - scoring twice from six outings but leaving plenty to be desired.
And the Manchester Evening News say Manchester United refused the chance to sign Hazard because of their faith in Bebe.
At the time of his signing, rumours went into overdrive.
Man Utd turned down the chance to sign Chelsea forward Eden Hazard
Some said the player had recently turned out at the Homeless World Cup and caught the eye of a United scout.
Others, however, believed the decision was made by a member of Sir Alex Ferguson’s coaching team.
The MEN say Ferguson himself believed Bebe to be recommended by former No 2 Carlos Quieroz.
But the man himself insists that is not the case and his signing remains one of United’s biggest mysteries.
Hazard, however, has blossomed at Chelsea, who he signed for from Lille in the summer of 2012.
