Manchester derby tunnel bust up: What REALLY happened between Man Utd and Man City players
MANCHESTER UNITED and Manchester City players and staff were involved in a mass confrontation after Sunday's derby at Old Trafford, and Express Sport gives you the rundown of what supposedly happened.
Both Manchester clubs were involved in a mass brawl after the derby
There was plenty at stake heading into the game between City and United with Pep Guardiola’s side aiming to increase their lead at the top of the table.
And they were able to do that, courtesy of goals from David Silva and Nicolas Otamendi either side of Marcus Rashford’s equaliser.
It sparked wild celebrations from the City players that spilled into the changing rooms.
And reports from many media outlets claimed Mourinho took umbrage to the overzealous celebrations and demanded the players show ‘more respect’.
What followed was many accounts suggesting it was much more serious than the ‘battle of the buffet’ back in 2004 when Cesc Fabregas hit Sir Alex Ferguson in the face with a slice of pizza.
Here, Express Sport takes you though all the big reported incidences from the brawl.
Mourinho had milk thrown at him
The incident reportedly began when Mourinho approached the City dressing room to demand they turn down the music.
It led to a confrontation between Mourinho and Ederson, with the two involved in a heated exchange in Portuguese and then Mourinho supposedly switched back to English, shouting “you f****** show respect. Who are you?”
It was then claimed the United boss had milk and water thrown at him after his bust-up with the City goalkeeper.

Arteta left bloodied
Some more serious information came out later that Manchester City assistant coach Mikel Arteta came off worse from the fracas.
The heated debate between Ederson and Mourinho quickly embroiled into a full-blown fight between the two sides with up to 20 players reportedly involved.
And it was claimed Arteta was left with a cut to his head and blood streaming down his face.
The former Arsenal man was being assessed in the away dressing room after being able to escape the crossfire.
Players had to be separated
Romelu Lukaku was said to be ‘prominently involved’ as the confrontation continued to escalate.
Both Sergio Aguero and Bernardo Silva were said to be watching on from a distance as the incident played out as they were not in the dressing room when it began.
Eventually police offers and Old Trafford stewards managed to separate the two rival teams.
