Liverpool transfer news: Jurgen Klopp looking for late deals before deadline day
JURGEN KLOPP is still working on last minute transfers but says he is happy with his squad as it is.
Jurgen Klopp's hilarious reaction to Philippe Coutinho question
Liverpool have signed three players this summer with Dominic Solanke, Mohamed Salah and Andrew Robertson coming in.
But deals for top targets Naby Keita and Virgl Van Dijk have proven difficult to get over the line.
And now Klopp is also dealing with Barcelona’s interest in Philippe Coutinho.
“If and I said it a few times, the transfer window closes tomorrow, I am happy with it,” Klopp said.
Jurgen Klopp wants more transfers before deadline day
We work on it, as you can imagine. But this transfer window is different to all other transfer windows
“We work on it, as you can imagine. But this transfer window is different to all other transfer windows.”
Liverpool have been linked with Van Dijk and Keita all summer but have been unable to find breakthroughs with Southampton and RB Leipzig.
But Klopp’s suggestion that Liverpool will continue to work on deals means they could make another effort for both players.
Liverpool’s frailties at the back have been highlighted already this season with Dejan Lovren’s place under threat.
They look short in midfield as well after Lucas’ departure and with interest from Juventus in Emre Can.
Reports from Germany today claimed Liverpool were also keen on a short-term deal for Renato Sanches, who has struggled since joining Bayern Munich from Benfica.
