The 26-year-old Manchester United goalkeeper has been heavily linked with a move to Real Madrid in recent seasons.
David de Gea was on the verge of joining the Spanish giants in the summer of 2015 but a move failed to materialise due to an administrative error.
The Spain international has since signed a new long-term contract at Old Trafford, but Real remain keen to bring their No 1 target to the Bernabeu.

However, Herrera has told De Gea to stay at United and become a legend between the sticks like Peter Schmeichel and Edwin van der Sar.
"He has a good contract here and he is valued a lot by the fans," Herrera told Cadena Ser.
"He is a calm person. He is not anxious or in a hurry to make a change.

"We are winning titles and that helps. I don't even consider the possibility that he could leave.
"I want him to stay for many years and not just because he is my friend, but because there are not many goalkeepers that earn you points like he does.
"If he continues here, he will become a club legend as Schmeichel and Van der Sar. I believe he can surpass them. I think he has that in his mind."
