Jose Mourinho avoids defending Man Utd stars after swipe: This person’s bigger than me
MANCHESTER UNITED boss Jose Mourinho has given Rio Ferdinand a free pass to criticise his players.
Ferdinand slams Pogba and Lingard's Instagram video
The United legend was less than impressed by Paul Pogba and Jesse Lingard this week.
World-record signing Pogba posted a video of the duo dancing and showing off their new goal celebration in the Red Devils dressing room.
But with United sitting in sixth and without a major trophy yet this season, Ferdinand warned their behaviour was unprofessional.
Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho avoided the topic of Paul Pogba's celebration video
I don’t think I have any legitimacy to comment on Rio
The former centre-half won six Premier League titles and the Champions League during his illustrious United career.
And as a result, Jose Mourinho, who only took charge at Old Trafford last summer, did not question Ferdinand’s opinion.
"I respect Rio,” Mourinho said. “He was a big guy in my club. He was a legend in my club.
“I am not, so as somebody that is not his level in the club, I don’t think I have any legitimacy to comment on Rio.

Manchester United's Jesse Lingard and Paul Pogba have become notorious for their celebrations
"I’m not saying to you that I agree or I disagree. I’m not saying that. I’m just saying that in relation to all these people that they are, in the history of Manchester United, much bigger than I am.
"I don’t comment to say I agree or disagree."
Manchester United fans could see the new celebration tomorrow when Mourinho’s men travel to champions Leicester (4pm).
