Express Sport revealed that Schweinsteiger held four-hour transfer talks with Fire boss Veljko Paunovic over a potential move to America.
But despite exit talk Schweinsteiger, who recently returned to first-team training at Carrington, has told Mourinho he is ready to return if he is needed.

Schweinsteiger said: "Last year we won the FA Cup, that was one of my goals.
"Sure, it would be great to play for United in the Premier League and win the title.

Schweinsteiger signed for United from Bayern Munich in 2015 and has made 31 appearances during his time at the club.
