The Dutch international sent a timely reminder of his qualities to Jose Mourinho after netting a brilliant brace in last night's World Cup qualifying victory over Luxembourg.
He's hopeful the goals can act as a springboard to help revive his stalling club career at Manchester United.
He told Dutch television: "I'm really happy I succeeded.

Memphis' performance came as no surprise to Dutch coach Danny Blind, who said he had remained confident in the player's ability even if he had seen little action.
