Man Utd ace: Why I think Louis van Gaal was harshly treated
DALEY BLIND has launched a staunch defence of Louis van Gaal, and backed him to find a new job soon.
Van Gaal was sacked by Manchester United in May after failing to deliver a top-four finish.
The Dutch tactician was widely expected to retire and walk off into the sunset.
Recent reports had linked Van Gaal with the vacant Belgium job.
And Blind thinks his old boss was harshly treated.
“Van Gaal did not deserve all the criticism. I rated him highly but football is tough at times,” he said.
“He knew it wasn’t going to be easy to restore success to United.”
However, Blind is unsure whether United will be Van Gaal’s last managerial job.

He added: “I don’t know whether Manchester United will be Van Gaal’s final act.
“But he worked so hard at the club until his last day and he could definitely take on a new project.”
Van Gaal guided United to their first trophy in three years last season - the FA Cup when they beat Crystal Palace at Wembley.
