The Argentina international has a £79million release clause which is too high for the Gunners to meet but they have reportedly been hoping to reduce the price by throwing their top-scorer into the mix.
However, Giroud’s agent Michael Manuello has revealed that he is unaware of any deal but that he believes Arsenal are indeed trying to buy a striker.
“Arsenal want another striker?
“Well yes, you always need two strikers.
“Unfortunately [Danny] Welbeck is out for two months.
“It’s quite normal, if you play for a great team it’s natural you’ll face strong competition.”
