Arsenal receive Gonzalo Higuain boost: Juventus ends interest after Napoli talks
JUVENTUS are no longer interested in signing Gonzalo Higuain after they met Napoli for talks over the Argentina star.
Gonzalo Higuain is a target for Arsenal
The future of the 28-year-old has been the subject of heavy speculation with Arsenal among the clubs reportedly keen on signing him.
But Higuain’s £79million (94m euros) release clause and Napoli’s determination to keep hold of their star player have meant talks were at an impasse.
And following the meeting, Marotta confirmed there would be no deal for Higuain, which may leave Arsenal clear to seal a deal.
“Yes, there’s no negotiation for Higuain,” Marotta told SportMediaset.
“De Laurentiis said we won’t pay the release clause? I’d say yes, that’s how it is. I’d say yes, absolutely.

“It’s a closed subject. For now. There’s no negotiation with Napoli. I won’t add anything else.
“Has Higuain asked to be sold? Ask Napoli. Will we replace Alvaro Morata? Well yes, we will.”
Higuain is said to Arsene Wenger’s top transfer target as he aims to bring a world-class striker to the Emirates.
