The Reds are currently owned by Fenway Sports Group with the club valued at around £650million.
And according to the Daily Star, Liverpool have held advanced talks with the prospective new owners, who are willing to offer Jurgen Klopp a massive transfer kitty this summer.
The Anfield outfit have been heavily linked with a move for Cologne defender Jonas Hector, who is said to be available for around £12m.
And Cologne boss Peter Stoger has revealed that his side are ready to listen to offers for their star man.
“I don’t have to talk about what may happen in the summer,” Stoger told German magazine Kicker.
“But if somebody should offer us a three-figure million sum, we’d probably give in. If a two-figure million sum is offered, we’d consider it.
“And if Jonas Hector says that he doesn’t want to stay here, we’d have to face up to it.”
