Dundee goal machine Kane Hemmings eyed by Chinese Second Division side Beijing Renhe
GOAL-HUNGRY Kane Hemmings could be the next Premiership star to head for China.
Dundee striker Kane Hemmings is a transfer target for Chinese Second Division side Beijing Renhe
Dundee’s in-form striker is a target for Chinese Second Division club Beijing Renhe, who have just paid £2million for West Ham’s former Rangers ace Nikica Jelavic.
And Hemmings has been also been recommended for an international call-up to Jamaica by Liverpool legend John Barnes.
His father Tony is of Jamaican descent and was also a pro footballer at Wycombe Wanderers, Chester and Carlisle.
Beijing, meanwhile, are tracking the 23-year-old, who has scored 18 goals this season, and 12 in his last 10 games. They are prepared to pay a similar fee to the sum spent on Croatia’s Jelavic.
But the Chinese side could face competition from England’s Championship, as Hemmings – who had a spell with Barnsley in 2014-15 after making a name for himself at Cowdenbeath – has also been watched by Leeds, Blackburn and Preston.
Chinese side Henan Jianye have already raided Scotland for Hearts striker Osman Sow and Dundee United defender Ryan McGowan.
