Reports suggest that Sterling has been offered a new five-year deal at Anfield that would see the 19-year-old earn £70,000-a-week.
But the England international is thought to be keen to remain playing in Europe's top competition after getting a taste this season.
And with Liverpool far from guaranteed of qualifying for the Champions League again next term, Sterling is taking his time to decide on his next step.

And the current Champions League holders have no problem guaranteeing regular visits to the latter stages of the competition to satisfy Sterling's ambitions.
Liverpool are understandably keen to keep Sterling at the club for the long-term despite a drop off in form so far this season.
But it now seems that the next few weeks - starting with this weekend's game against fierce rivals Manchester United - could go a long way to determining Sterling's future on Merseyside.
