Sky Blues are flying high: Coventry head for FA Cup second round after beating Wimbledon
COVENTRY overcame a determined Wimbledon side to book their place in the second round of the FA Cup.
Michael Smith opened the scoring for the Dons in the 54th minute, before a blunder by reserve keeper Seb Brown let in Callum Wilson. Carl Baker put Coventry ahead and then his shot was deflected in by Callum Kennedy for the Sky Blues’ third.
Wes Fletcher’s 86th-minute equaliser grabbed York a replay after Chris Beardsley’s header looked to have given Bristol Rovers, who were twice behind, the win.
Ryan Jarvis put the visitors ahead before Eliot Richards equalised shortly after. Josh Carson put York back in front with a 30-yard screamer before Rovers’ Matt Harrold scored with his first touch and then Beardsley nodded in.
