Manchester United show worth off field after publishing excellent financial results
MANCHESTER UNITED have proved to be just as successful off the pitch after posting record revenues today.
Though the Red Devils were knocked off top spot by Real Madrid in Forbes' list of most valuable clubs, they announced revenues of £91m in the three months to March 31.
More importantly, they managed to reduce their debt levels to £376.6m in the third quarter.
However, their title triumph came at a cost as they saw their wage bill soar 25% year-on-year to nearly £45m.
United are looking to flex their financial muscle in the Far East where they have a massive fan base.
Today's figures did not include the £120m, eight-year deal with AON, who possess the naming rights for United's Carrington training complex and sponsorship of the club's training kit.
