Following Manchester United's 0-0 draw with Aston Villa, the club's executive committee is set to convene in Manchester today and London tomorrow.

Sir Jim Ratcliffe, the United co-owner who now has full control of football operations, was present at Villa Park on Sunday. This marked his first in-person viewing of the team since their 3-0 defeat by Liverpool last month.

Erik ten Hag has been under immense pressure following a series of unsuccessful games, with United not securing a win in any of their last five matches across all competitions. In fact, since the commencement of the new season, United have only managed three victories.

Now, Ten Hag is bracing for critical discussions about his future after United's worst-ever start to a Premier League campaign. Ratcliffe will spearhead a board meeting on Tuesday that includes all club chiefs.

Who will be present?

Ratcliffe, along with United co-chairman Joel Glazer and INEOS' director of sport Sir Dave Brailsford, form a three-person committee responsible for all major decisions concerning the club.

All three will be present at the meeting, with Glazer making the journey from the United States to attend. Chief executive Omar Berrada, sporting director Dan Ashworth and technical director Jason Wilcox are also expected to be present.

The final two members of United's executive committee, chief financial officer Roger Bell and chief operating officer Collette Roche, will also be in attendance. The committee plans to meet monthly to discuss the club's future.

Who will determine Ten Hag's fate?

The final say over Ten Hag's future at the helm will ultimately rest with Ratcliffe, Glazer, and Brailsford, yet the daily operatives Berrada, Ashworth, and Wilcox wield significant influence.

Their intimate involvement in the club's day-to-day affairs means Ratcliffe has openly declared his reliance on their counsel regarding managerial decisions.

Providing insight into his perspective, Ratcliffe disclosed to BBC Sport, "At the end of the day it's not my call."

Expounding further he remarked, "It's the management team that's running Manchester United that have to decide how we best run the team in many different respects.

"But that team that's running Manchester United has only been together since June or July. They weren't there in January, February, March or April, Omar [Berrada], Dan Ashworth - they only arrived in July."

United have reportedly lined up Thomas Tuchel to replace Ten Hag should they decide to part ways this month.
