Arne Slot will face the biggest test of his Liverpool reign to date when the Reds face Manchester United on Sunday. The two rivals will meet at Old Trafford in what promises to be a blockbuster clash between England's biggest clubs.

Liverpool have made a strong start to their Premier League campaign with two wins from as many games. They dug deep to beat Ipswich Town on the opening day of the season before cruising past Brentford last weekend.

United, meanwhile, will be hoping to redeem themselves after losing at Brighton in their last league fixture. The Red Devils will have the added benefit of home advantage but are set to go into Sunday's match as the clear underdogs.

Goalkeeper - Alisson

There will be no surprises between the sticks with Alisson Becker serving as Liverpool's last line of defence. He is yet to concede a goal in the Premier League this season and will be hoping to make it a hat-trick of clean sheets against United.

Defence - Alexander-Arnold, Konate, Van Dijk, Robertson

Jarell Quansah started against Ipswich but was hooked at half-time and was left out of the line-up against Brentford. It seems clear that Konate is the preferred option to partner Virgil van Dijk and that is unlikely to change at Old Trafford.

It will be business as usual in the full-back positions, with Trent Alexander-Arnold and Andy Robertson starting on opposite flanks.

Midfield - Gravenberch, Mac Allister, Szoboszlai

Ryan Gravenberch has been one of Liverpool's best players in recent games and is likely to be rewarded with a start against United. He will be partnered by Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai, who will be given licence to play further forward.

Liverpool will have Harvey Elliott and Wataru Endo on the bench to provide some extra energy in midfield later on.

Attack - Salah, Diaz, Jota

It will be a surprise if the Reds deviate from their established front three of Mohamed Salah, Luis Diaz and Diogo Jota. New signing Federico Chiesa could make his debut against United but will likely be forced to settle for a place on the bench.

The likes of Darwin Nunez and Cody Gakpo will also be hoping to come on and make an impact against tired legs in the second half.

Predicted Liverpool XI: Alisson, Alexander-Arnold, Konate, Van Dijk, Robertson, Gravenberch, Mac Allister, Szoboszlai, Salah, Diaz, Jota.
