Jude Bellingham may have been the hero for England against Slovakia, but one ex-Germany star has warned him to "be careful" of getting too cocky. Borussia Monchengladbach player Christoph Kramer has branded Bellingham "irritating" and noted that the young star needs to be wary of his behaviour on the big stage.

Kramer admits the 21-year-old England international is an "outstanding" talent for both Real Madrid and his country. But he wants the midfielder to reflect on his actions afterthe Euros.

England looked all but out of Euro 2024 on Sunday evening as they trailed 1-0 to Slovakia in the 90th minute. That was until Bellingham came up trumps, scoring a bicycle kick in the final minute of stoppage time to force extra time.

Bellingham celebrated wildly after netting the equaliser, posing with captain Harry Kane after drawing things level. It caught the eye of millions of fans around the world as England supporters hailed the young player for saving the Three Lions' tournament.

However, Kramer, who made 12 appearances for Germany between 2014 and 2016, has issued a warning to Bellingham. He has told the former Birmingham City man to "be careful" of his behaviour and to not get too "cocky" before his time.

"He is of course an outstanding player, he just has to be careful overall that he doesn't start getting too cocky at such a young age," Kramer said on German channel ZDF. Adding: "What I always find really bad is when you wave off your team-mates. He had a few gestures in there, even in the last few games."

"After the tournament, during the summer break, I hope he reflects a bit. I don't think I'm the only one who says he can be irritating sometimes," added Kramer.

Bellingham has scored twice for England during the Euros so far, but England have been far from their impressive best during this tournament. Gareth Southgate's side came under heavy criticism against Slovenia and Slovakia for their passive style of play and overall boring performances. That despite topping their group and having booked their spot in the quarter-finals against Switzerland.
Bellingham did note that he enjoyed giving "a little bit back" following his goal against Slovakia, as the England squad have come under fire for their recent performances.

Speaking to the BBC, Bellingham said: "Playing for England is an enjoyable feeling but it's also a lot of pressure. You hear people talk a lot of rubbish. It's nice when you can deliver and give them a little bit back."

Bellingham is currently under investigation by UEFA after allegedly making an X-rated gesture following his equaliser against Slovakia. He is being investigated for a 'potential violation of the basic rules of decent conduct,' which it is claimed he directed towards the Slovakia bench. If found guilty, he could face a fine or a potential ban.
