Premier League clubs are scrambling to bolster their squads in the final two weeks of the January transfer window. Manchester United, Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool are yet to make a signing this month, despite wide acknowledgement that all four clubs must strengthen.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has handed Brendan Rodgers a transfer blow by fielding young defender Owen Beck at the end of Sunday's 4-0 win at AFC Bournemouth.
The 21-year-old left-back spent the first half of the season on loan at Dundee and was reportedly a target for Rodgers at Celtic this month.
However, his appearance at the Vitality Stadium means he has played for two clubs this season, ending Celtic's chances of a loan.
Beck will remain at Liverpool for the remainder of the season to provide cover for Andy Robertson and Kostas Tsimikas.
Former Chelsea player Pat Nevin has urged the club not to pursue a loan move for Karim Benzema.
“How many times have Chelsea gone down that route of signing an experienced striker," he told OCB Scores. "You think of the certain strikers that Chelsea have signed in the latter stages of their career, the likes of Shevchenko, I could go through a number of them. They’re all brilliant but very few of them scored a lot of goals for the club.
“Evan Ferguson would be the more obvious one to go for. If you’re going down the route of signing a young striker, Ferguson would be the one I would look at. Someone is needed upfront because when we’re asking Cole Palmer, Chelsea’s best player, to play upfront with his back to goal, of course he can do it but you’re putting your best player out of position.”
West Ham are ready to break their transfer record to sign Bayer Leverkusen striker Victor Boniface, according to The Sun.The Nigerian international has scored 16 times for the German club this season.

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag is keen to sign Ajax's 21-year-old striker Brian Brobbey this month, according to Sky Sports DE. The Dutch international has scored 12 times this season.
Former Man United striker Dimitar Berbatov has dismissed the idea the club are leading the race to sign Karim Benzema. "Despite United being linked, Benzema will want to play in the Champions League and I think he still wants to play regularly," he told Betfair. "He's very similar to Cristiano Ronaldo in that respect. He wants to win trophies too. It'll all come down to what Ten Hag says to him but in the end sometimes the Man United brand and badge is sometimes all that needs to appeal to some players. I think Benzema would get more game time at Chelsea because Nicolas Jackson is still finding his feet and is still missing chances.
"Also, it'd be in London and sometimes you want your new surroundings to be in a big city like that. Arsenal would be a very similar move because he'd be able to chase Champions League success."
Manchester United are preparing to offload Casemiro this year and could agree a settlement to terminate his contract, according to reports. Bristol Rovers are set to come back with a second offer for Grimsby Town youngster Kamil Conteh, Express Sport understands.
The Gas saw their initial approach knocked back earlier this week.
Talks are still progressing behind the scenes and there are hopes that a deal can be thrashed out before the January deadline, despite fears that Grimsby may rule out parting ways with the youngster.
Conteh, a 21-year-old midfielder, has appeared in 25 of Grimsby's 27 League Two matches so far this campaign, and he is already a senior Sierra Leone international.
He previously enjoyed spells with Watford and Middlesbrough before joining up with Grimsby in July.
Man City want to tie down Kevin De Bruyne to a new contract, the Mirror reports.
The Belgian, who has recently returned from a lengthy injury lay-off, has interest from Saudi Arabia which the Premier League champions are keen to fend off.
Chelsea have backed down on their eye-watering £50m price tag for striker Armando Broja.
The Blues reportedly now want £35m for the Albanian.
According to the Sun, Broja could depart on loan until the end of the season.
The Stamford Bridge hierarchy would reportedly accept a temporary arrangement as long as a £35m obligation to buy the forward is structured into the contract.
Man Utd have lured Omar Berrada from Man City as their new chief executive.
Berrada was the figure who struck the deal for City to sign Erling Haaland from Borussia Dortmund.
He replaces the recently-departed Richard Arnold and represents a coup for the Red Devils, with Sir Jim Ratcliffe reportedly behind the appointment.
A United statement read: "The club is determined to put football and performance on the pitch back at the heart of everything we do. Omar's appointment represents the first step on this journey.
"As one of the most experienced football executives at the top of European football, Omar brings a wealth of football and commercial expertise, with a proven record of successful leadership and a passion to help lead change across the club.
"It is our stated ambition to re-establish Manchester United as a title-winning club. We are pleased that Omar will be joining us to help achieve that goal, so that, once again, United fans can see, in the words of Sir Matt Busby, the red flag flying high at the summit of English, European and world football."
