Express Sport provides all the latest Man Utd transfer news, including updates on Mason Greenwood, Erik ten Hag and potential incomings and outgoings.
'Man Utd need major surgery!' | Erik ten Hag could make some major moves in the January transfer window
Manchester United have made the most active start to the January transfer window across the Premier League, with a pair of players departing in the opening two days. After Donny van de Beek sealed a loan switch to Eintracht Frankfurt on January 1, Erik ten Hag continued to trim his squad on Tuesday.
Express Sport provides all the latest transfer news from Old Trafford, including fresh developments regarding potential incomings and outgoings.
Man Utd 'nearing Giorgio Scalvini transfer'
United are reportedly in advanced negotiations over the signing of Atalanta centre-back Giorgio Scalvini.
That's according to French publication Les Bons Conceil Du Sports, who claim United are ready to trigger the highly-rated 20-year-old's £44million release clause.
Scalvini is said to be the subject of rival interest from AC Milan, Juventus, Inter Milan and Real Madrid. Chelsea have also been touted among the Italy international's suitors.
But he could soon land at Old Trafford as a long-term replacement for Raphael Varane, who looks increasingly likely to depart on a free transfer when his contract expires at the end of the season.

Mason Greenwood talks 'expected'
Mason Greenwood is another hot topic on the outgoings side of United's transfer operations at the start of 2024.
The 22-year-old forward is shining on loan at Getafe and is expected to seal a permanent move away from Old Trafford in the summer.
According to The Athletic, United will hold talks around Greenwood's future this month amid heavyweight interest in his signature.
Barcelona are said to be among his suitors, but the La Liga giants have yet to make a concrete approach. Getafe have a 20 per cent sell-on clause in his contract.

Sergio Reguilon returns to Tottenham
Sergio Reguilon has returned to Tottenham Hotspur after United triggered the break clause in his contract.
The 27-year-old left-back joined on an emergency season-long loan on deadline day after ill-timed injuries to Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia.
But United included the clause, allowing the Red Devils or Spurs to terminate the loan this month, with the belief that Shaw and Malacia would be at Ten Hag's disposal in the New Year.
Ten Hag expects both to be available for selection by the end of January, leaving Reguilon's prospects of game time slim. The Spaniard made 12 appearances for United.
