Man Utd: Shaw comments on Mount's signing
Manchester United still have transfer business to complete with less than a month of the summer transfer window remaining. The Red Devils face one final pre-season fixture this afternoon before Erik ten Hag's second campaign as manager commences on Monday, August 14.
United travel to Dublin, where Athletic Club and former midfielder Ander Herrera await ahead of a week of build-up to the Premier League opener against Wolves at Old Trafford.
But in the background, plenty of work is ongoing to ensure Ten Hag has a squad he believes can improve on a successful maiden season.
The Dutchman is eyeing at least one more signing, reportedly Fiorentina midfielder Sofyan Amrabat.
And there are several players still in the shop window who could still depart, including Harry Maguire, Fred, and Donny van de Beek.
But there may have been a hitch in offloading one of Ten Hag's most sellable assets, which could prove costly.

Manchester United unveiled their new striker Rasmus Hojlund before the friendly win over Lens on Saturday, but without a confirmed shirt number.
Now, the Daily Mail have claimed that the reasoning behind this decision is that the Red Devils are yet to conclude their transfer business this summer.
This may concern potential incomings as well as current stars who may soon vacate Hojlund's preferred numbers.
Kylian Mbappe is set to continue training away from the first team as Paris Saint-Germain return from their pre-season tour.
Mbappe, who has been described as a Manchester United target especially if Sheikh Jassim takes over from the Glazers, was not picked to travel to Japan as a result of his ongoing transfer saga.
He is refusing to sign an extension to his contract amid links to Real Madrid, though is said to be open to a Premier League loan for the final year of his PSG deal and the Daily Mail's claim that he is staying away from the squad would only bolster English club's chances.

Mason Greenwood could return to the Manchester United first-team squad after an internal investigation into the 21-year-old was concluded.
There is a chance that he stays with the team as opposed to leaving on loan or permanently, but would need to get up to speed after over a year away from football.
Manchester United are reportedly set to intensify their efforts to sign Fiorentina midfielder Sofyan Amrabat.
Italian outlet La Repubblica have claimed that now Rasmus Hojlund has been confirmed as a new United player, the next focus will be Amrabat.
Erik ten Hag likely will have to part ways with both Donny van de Beek and Fred, but with United ready to up their efforts to sign their Moroccan replacement - movement could be happening to seal both exits.
A late Facundo Pellistri goal rescued a draw in Dublin as Manchester United tied 1-1 with Athletic Bilbao.
After Harry Maguire's mistake allowed Nico Williams to give the Spanish side the lead - which resulted in the England man being booed, he played his part in the equaliser.
In a strong second-half performance from the centre-back, he met Aaron Wan-Bissaka's cross and nodded the ball down to Pellistri to claim a last-gasp goal to draw Erik ten Hag's side level.

Maguire has been linked with a move away to West Ham and errors such as this one will not do him any favours in terms of staying at the club beyond this summer.
Gary Lineker has admitted that he is "not convinced" that Rasmus Hojlund will be the answer to Manchester United's issues this season.
After deeming fees for Harry Kane and Victor Osimhen were too high, United identified the 20-year-old as their priority striker signing and forked out £72million to bring him to Old Trafford.
But Lineker has insisted that he is more of a long-term project than someone who can have a big impact this season.
"United have spent a lot of money on 20-year-old Danish striker Rasmus Hojlund from Atalanta and I can’t say I have seen a lot of him," Lineker told The Sun.
"Perhaps they see him more as one for the long term but I’m not convinced he’s going to make the difference for them."
Manchester United target Sofyan Amrabat is prepared to wait in order to seal his transfer to the Red Devils from Fiorentina.
That's according to journalist Ben Jacobs, after United were originally unable to meet the Serie A club's asking price amid their own financial concerns.
United likely need to offload both Donny van de Beek and Fred in order to reach Fiorentina's £26million valuation of the Moroccan.
However, United are not under pressure to sell the pair swiftly as Amrabat is ready to bide his time to make a move happen.

Harry Redknapp has backed Erik ten Hag to continue his progress at Manchester United this season after enjoying a positive transfer window.
He told The Sun: "Erik ten Hag did a great job in his first season at United, and he's another who has had a decent summer in the market.
"I've always liked Mason Mount, and he is a great addition to the midfield, while Andre Onana is one of the best keepers in the world.
"Rasmus Hojlund might not have been their first choice for a new striker at the start of the summer, but he looks a great prospect.
"As good a season as Marcus Rashford had last time, United have been after a goalscoring centre-forward for ages. This lad could be the answer.
"I must admit, I'd fancy them even more if they'd have gone out and spent £100million on Harry Kane. That would have been very hard for Daniel Levy to turn down.
"But, even so, I think United are fantastic value, and in my book, they will be a real threat to everyone this season."
