Erik ten Hag on Cristiano Ronaldo staying at Man Utd
Manchester United star Antony scored on his debut against Arsenal on Sunday. And that means the Brazil international has already matched the exploits of Wayne Rooney, Ruud van Nistelrooy and Zlatan Ibrahimovic. All three men scored on their debuts for the club - and went on to become household names at Old Trafford.
Manchester United decided to spend big on Antony, with Joel Glazer sanctioning a huge £84.5million deal for the former Ajax star after being impressed by his determination to join.
And, on Sunday against Arsenal, the 22-year-old made an instant impact at Old Trafford.
Antony opened the scoring in a stirring 3-1 win, with the Samba star getting supporters going with a composed finish after being played through by Marcus Rashford.
And, in scoring on his debut, the Brazilian has become the latest player to net for the club at the very first time of asking.
Club legends such as Rooney, Van Nistelrooy and Ibrahimovic have all done the same in the past upon arriving from Everton, PSV Eindhoven and Paris Saint-Germain respectively.
Rooney moved in the summer of 2004, shortly after shining at the European Championships with England.

And he’d go on to become the Red Devils’ all-time leading goalscorer, as well as scooping five Premier League titles during his glittering spell at the Theatre of Dreams.
Van Nistelrooy moved to United from PSV Eindhoven back in the summer transfer window of 2001, having had to wait a year due to a serious injury.
The Netherlands international then bagged against Liverpool in the Community Shield on his debut, before then netting a brace in a 3-2 win over Fulham.
And Ibrahimovic scored in his first match for United as well, with the Sweden international striking the winner in a 2-1 Community Shield victory over Leicester at Wembley.
