Manchester United are refusing to lie down in their attempts to sign Frenkie de Jong from Barcelona, while a deal for Lisandro Martinez is also very much alive. Meanwhile, Chelsea are also making moves as they close in on the signing of Kalidou Koulibaly from Napoli. Express Sport is on hand to provide you with all the very latest from the transfer market on Wednesday, July 13.
Manchester United have received an opening bid from a Saudi Arabian club for the services of Cristiano Ronaldo, who could receive an eye-watering salary in the region of £105million per year.
That's according to CNN Portugal, who are claiming that the offer includes a transfer fee of around £30m.
Ronaldo would then be poised to receive a total wage of £210m, spread over a two-year contract, with another £20m having been tabled in agent fees.
Lisandro Martinez's proposed move to Manchester United is now imminent, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The Red Devils met with Ajax earlier today to discuss the finer details of the move, which is expected to cost United a transfer fee of around £46m.
Talks between the two clubs are said to have entered into the final stages, while an agreement on personal terms with Martinez has already been reached.

Leicester City are considering the prospect of launching a move for Monaco youngster Sofiane Diop.
That's according to L'Equipe, who are reporting that Brendan Rodgers is a huge admirer of the midfielder's profile.
It is said that Monaco could decide to sell the 19-year-old before the new campaign gets underway after falling out of first-team contention towards the end of last season.

Chelsea defender Ian Maatsen is poised to join Burnley on a season-long loan deal over the coming days, according to David Ornstein.
Maatsen spent last season at Coventry City, where he played 40 times in the Championship and helped the Sky Blues to secure a 12th-placed finish.
The 20-year-old is now set to drop back down to the second tier with Burnley, who have already reinforced their defensive ranks with the summer additions of Luke McNally and CJ Egan-Riley.
Chelsea are no longer chasing a move for Sevilla defender Jules Kounde after securing the signing of Kalidou Koulibaly from Napoli, according to Sport.
Kounde has been heavily linked with the Blues since last summer, when he reportedly agreed personal terms with the west Londoners but was prevented from joining because the two clubs did not settle on a transfer fee.
He now appears poised to join either Barcelona or Paris Saint-Germain instead of Chelsea before the new season finally gets underway.

Chelsea midfielder Mason Mount has said that he is relishing the prospect of tearing up the Premier League alongside Raheem Sterling for the Blues next season.
"I’ve been lucky to play with him over the last couple of years with England where he’s captained the team at times, he’s someone who has been there for a very long time," Mount told Sky Sports.
"He’s a top player and I’ve learnt a lot off him over the last couple of years so for him to be joining us, he’s only going to bring our levels higher.
"He’s definitely someone who strives for high levels to win and that’s what we want. We want those players around this group, very excited for him to be here.
"We’ve lost a few that are leaders and he’s coming in and will be someone that will lead, a big presence in the group, a big personality. Hopefully we can win some things together."
Everton boss Frank Lampard has insisted that Anthony Gordon will not be allowed to leave the club this summer despite interest from the likes of Tottenham and Newcastle United.
"He is a link to the crowd, a link to the fans," said Lampard, as reported by The Independent.
"He’s going nowhere and that is a hugely important thing for me. He is the sort of player we want to build and go forward with."

Everton are weighing up the idea of submitting a bid for Chelsea midfielder Tino Anjorin in the not-too-distant future, according to 90min.
The Toffees are looking to overhaul their playing squad this summer and are said to have identified Anjorin as one of several midfield targets.
Andre Gomes and Jean-Philippe Gbamin could reportedly be sold by Everton as part of Frank Lampard's rebuilding process, while Fabian Delph has already departed after the expiry of his previous deal at Goodison Park.
Anjorin is said to be open to the possibility of joining Everton, who are keen to snap him up a permanent basis, but Chelsea would rather send him out on loan and have informed the Merseyside club of their preference.
Kalidou Koulibaly has been spotted leaving Italy for England in order to complete his medical at Chelsea.
The Napoli defender has agreed to join the Blues and is expected to thrash out the formaliities of his impending move to Stamford Bridge on Thursday.
Chelsea are set to pay a transfer fee in the region of £34m in exchange for Koulibaly, who registered 34 appearances for Napoli in all competitions last season.

Chelsea have officially confirmed the arrival of Raheem Sterling on a long-term deal from Manchester City.
The England ace completed a medical in London earlier this week before flying to Los Angeles to link up with his new team-mates for the very first time.
Manchester City are happy to let Liam Delap leave the Etihad Stadium this summer in order to join either Southampton and Burnley, according to Fabrizio Romano.
Delap has shone at youth level for City over the last few years but has failed to work his way into Pep Guardiola's first-team setup on a regular basis.
Southampton are keen on snapping up the 19-year-old on a permanent deal, while Burnley have asked to take him on loan until the end of the season.
A final decision on Delap's immediate future is now set to be made over the coming days.
Chelsea are keen on launching a move for Paris Saint-Germain defender Presnel Kimpembe after reaching an agreement with Napoli to land Kalidou Koulibaly.
That's according to Christian Falk, who claims that Kimpembe is indeed a target for the Blues in advance of next season.
Those in power at Stamford Bridge are said to be eager to sign another central defender this summer, with Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen having already left the club at the end of last season.
Nathan Ake of Manchester City has also been heavily linked with Chelsea in recent days and negotiations are said to be ongoing at club level regarding a move for the Dutchman.
Raphinha has arrived in Barcelona to undergo a medical ahead of his expected move to the Nou Camp from Leeds United.
A transfer fee of up to £50m has finally been agreed between the two clubs after months of protracted negotiations.
The Brazilian forward is imminently expected to sign a long-term contract with Barcelona, who have been desperate to snap him up since the end of last season.
Chelsea have agreed a £34m deal with Napoli to sign 31-year-old centre-back Kalidou Koulibaly.
The commanding Senegalaese defender is now set to head to London for a medical with the Blues, who have already agreed terms with the player.
Barcelona and Juventus had also explored moves for Koulibaly, who may not be Chelsea's only defensive recruit.
Talks are also ongoing with Manchester City over a deal to sign former Blues academy graduate Nathan Ake.

Lucas Torreira's agent has confirmed the midfielder has a pre-agreement in place to join Valencia this summer.
The Uruguayan is back in London training with the Gunners ahead of their pre-season tour of the United States.
“We have reached an agreement with Valencia, Gattuso wants him. We are gonna discuss with Arsenal - Arteta wants to see him in the pre season”, Pablo Bentancur told 100% Deporte.
“He had great numbers with AFC but we’ve pre agreement with Valencia."
Fiorentina wanted to sign Torreira permanently but were not willing to pay their £12.5m option to buy following a successful loan, as it was considered too high.
United chiefs in Amsterdam as Martinez agrees terms
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has revealed Lisandro Martinez has now agreed personal terms with Manchester United, who have reps in Amsterdam to close a deal for the defender.
There is growing optimism Martinez will become the club's second summer signing after Tyrell Malacia - with Christian Eriksen expected to follow.
Romano tweeted: "Excl: Manchester United executives, in Amsterdam to meet with Ajax and so trying to seal Lisandro Martínez deal. Personal terms agreed with Argentinian centre back.
"Manchester United had €50m bid [add-ons included] rejected last week, but Ajax are now open to sell."
Aston Villa boss Steven Gerrard has confirmed he decided to exclude Carney Chukwuemeka from the club's pre-season tour of Australia due to the player's ongoing contract situation.
Villa have offered the England U-19 Euro winner a new lucrative deal but they are yet to receive a response.
Barcelona are monitoring situation and would be interested in a potential deal.
Chukwuemeka's current deal is due to expire in the summer of 2023.
Liverpool and Blackburn in talks over Ben Davies deal
Blackburn Rovers are in talks with Liverpool over the signing of Ben Davies with the Reds pushing for a permanent sale.
The Championship club, now led by Jon Dahl Tomasson, who lost to the Reds in the 2005 Champions League final with AC Milan, are keen to beat Stoke to the signing of the former Preston defender.
Liverpool want to cash in on Davies, who is yet to feature for Jurgen Klopp's side since making his shock January 2021 deadline day switch to Anfield.
Davies did not travel with Liverpool on their pre-season tour of Thailand and Singapore, as the club continue to work on finalising his exit.
A loan cannot be ruled out at this stage but Liverpool would favour a permanent sale for the former Sheffield United loanee.
Frenkie de Jong's agents Ali Dursun and Hasan Cetinkaya have made it clear to Barcelona that their client does not intend to leave the club this summer.
That's according to Fabrizio Romano, who has highlighted that De Jong remains focused on staying with Barca next season amid strong interest from Manchester United.
The Red Devils now have a £72m deal in place with Barcelona but convincing the player to join remains a huge stumbling block.
Express Sport's Ryan Taylor understands West Ham have their work cut out trying to convince Gianluca Scamacca to join the club - even if they agree a fee with Sassuolo.
Ideally, the striker wants to remain in Italy but is also open to joining Paris Saint-Germain.
They are currently offering an initial £34m (€40m) - the same as West Ham - with a view to negotiating additional bonuses.
Although West Ham are prepared to outbid PSG, they will have to work some magic in order to convince the 23-year-old to sign for the club.
PSG are yet to agree a fee with Sassuolo but they are of the belief that Scamacca is ready to make the move, should a deal be struck. The same cannot currently be said for West Ham.
It's been a while in the making but Leeds have finally agreed a deal with Barcelona to sell Raphinha.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano claims Barca will pay £49m upfront with around £8m in add-ons to sign the Brazilian winger.
Raphinha has been holding out for Barcelona since deciding he wanted to leave to pursue a new challenge after agreeing personal terms with the Catalan giants earlier this year.
Chelsea had also struck a £60m deal with Leeds but Raphinha only wanted to join Barcelona.

The Belgian has already outlined his desire to prove his worth at the Bernabeu and Carlo Ancelotti is prepared to hand him a chance, if he shows the best version of himself.
But the Italian has also given his OK for a sale - if bids land on Madrid's table.
Andriy Yarmolenko will be playing his football in Abu Dhabi next season after joining Al Ain FC.
The Ukrainian international became a free agent at the beginning of July following the expiry of his contract with West Ham.
Fulham had shown initial interest while Dynamo Kyiv were expected to bring the player back to his homeland following his 2017 move to Borussia Dortmund.
Yarmolenko has won 109 caps for Ukraine but couldn't help them over the line in their 1-0 World Cup play-off defeat to Ukraine last month.
According to The Athletic, Mason Mount has indicated - for the first time - that he wants to commit his long-term future to Chelsea.
His comments are expected to trigger the start of contract negotiations between the club and England international, who is Chelsea through and through.
Mount has two years remaining on his current contract but his intention is to remain at Stamford Bridge.
West Ham are in talks with Sassuolo over a deal to sign Italy international striker Gianluca Scamacca.
The 23-year-old frontman, who netted 16 times in 36 outings in Serie A last season, has been the subject of negotiations with Paris Saint-Germain in recent weeks but the Ligue 1 champions are yet to strike an agreement.
Now the Hammers are looking to hijack the deal after entering formal discussions with the Italian outfit as fellow striker target Armando Broja prepares to jet off to the United States with Chelsea on their pre-season tour next week.
David Moyes' side are willing to pay a total package of £40m - £34m upfront and £6m in add-ons - to sign Scamacca, who would provide healthy competition for Michail Antonio in attack.
Sassuolo are looking for £45m in order to agree to a sale with Inter Milan also among the long list of clubs keen on the highly-coveted frontman.
Attacking midfielder Giacomo Raspadori was also mentioned during club-to-club discussions with West Ham but the Irons are currently prioritising the signing of Jesse Lingard following his release from Manchester United.
Manchester United now have a deal in place to sign Frenkie de Jong from Barcelona after Old Trafford chiefs Richard Arnold and John Murtough flew out to Spain to close negotiations with the Catalan giants.
According to Esport3 journalist Oriol Domenech, the clubs now have an agreement worth £72million (€85m) but there is one final obstacle in the way...
United need to convince De Jong to join the Red Devils and that has proven very difficult so far.
De Jong has made it clear on a number of occasions that he wishes to remain with Barcelona, where he wants to prove his worth under Xavi.
Erik ten Hag has spoken to the player a number of times but so far, he's been unsuccessful in his attempts to lure the midfielder to Old Trafford.
