Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has confirmed Alexandre Lacazette will be the club's new captain until the end of the season. The Frenchman has worn the armband plenty of times in the past few weeks after former strike partner Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was stripped of the captaincy in December following a disciplinary breach.

Elsewhere, Kieran Tierney, Gabriel Magalhaes, Aaron Ramsdale and Ben White have all started to step up and all four will be contenders for the captaincy this summer.
Speaking ahead of the trip to Wolves, Arteta took the time to respond to former striker Aubameyang, who took a parting shot at his former manager during his Barcelona unveiling.
"My last few months at Arsenal were complicated, that's football sometimes," the striker said.
"For my part, I never wanted to do anything wrong. My problem was only with Arteta. I can't say much more, I wasn't happy."
Arteta has now taken the time to thank Aubameyang for his service to the club - despite making it clear the player was responsible for his own demise in north London.
"I’m extremely grateful what Auba has done and his contribution," he said.
"The way I see myself in that relationship is the solution, not the problem."
Before adding: "That’s his opinion [that Arteta was the main problem], that’s what he said and you have to respect that.”
