Premier League title race: Man City maintain healthy lead at top
January transfer deadline day is finally here, and it's poised to be a hectic day of dealings in the Premier League and around Europe. Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester United, Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur could all be active in the market before this evening's winter deadline.
Arsenal expect further outgoings, which many fans believe could prompt the club to sign a new striker in Real Sociedad's Alexander Isak after being spotted in London on Sunday.
It's likely to be a busy day for Newcastle and Tottenham, who are both set to sign at least two players to round off their January business.
Manchester United have been quiet in terms of incomings this month but could still pursue a defensive midfielder or winger if an opportunity arises before the deadline.
Meanwhile, Liverpool could be closing in on their second signing of the window - teenage Fulham attacker Fabio Carvalho.
Express Sport is on hand to bring you all the latest news from the Premier League and across Europe with live updates throughout the day.
Liverpool could still yet sign Fulham attacker Fabio Carvalho.
It's said that the Reds are hopeful of striking an agreement with the Cottagers.
That would allow them to beat the competition, with many clubs - particularly those overseas - keen on his signature when his contract runs out.
You can find more details about Carvalho's failed January switch here.
Liverpool now hoping to reach an agreement to sign Fabio Carvalho when his contract expires in the summer. Fulham will be due compensation for developing the player but, if the two clubs can agree a fee, they can avoid going through a tribunal process.

Newcastle have completed the signing of defender Dan Burn from Brighton.
Eddie Howe was keen to add defensive reinforcements this month.
The Magpies have not quite acquired all their main targets but have still spent over £80m this month as their mega rich owners attempt to move away from the relegation zone.
Burn has signed for a fee believed to be around £13m. He joins Kieran Trippier, Matt Targett, Bruno Guimaraes and Chris Wood through the door at St. James' Park.
Liverpool could use right-back Neco Williams as bait in a potential deal with Fulham that would see Fabio Carvalho join the Reds, according to reports.
The Anfield outfit want to sign goalscoring midfielder Carvalho to avoid a tug-of-war when his contract expires at the end of June.
The England youth international has become a key player for the Cottagers this season.
A deal is apparently becoming difficult and could go right down to the 11pm deadline.
And Liverpool could include Wales international Williams in a potential deal, according to The Athletic.
Liverpool remain locked in talks with Fulham over exciting teenager Fabio Carvalho ahead of the 11pm transfer deadline tonight and the Championship leaders are 'driving a hard bargain', according to reports.
The Portugal-born England youth international is out of contract in the summer and the Reds are eager to snap him up now and loan him back to Fulham for the rest of the season.
Doing so would prevent them having to battle multiple other clubs to snag him in July, when overseas clubs would be able to offer Carvalho higher wages.
a deal is far from straightforward, according to The Times, who say Fulham are 'driving a hard bargain' for the highly-rated 19-year-old.
Newcastle have made a late attempt to sign Dele Alli from Tottenham after missing out on Jesse Lingard, according to reports.
The Magpies were denied the opportunity of loaning Lingard after Manchester United pulled the plug on a deal.
Eddie Howe will now turn his attention to other targets. Alli has apparently been linked up, even though he has been strongly linked with Everton all day.
Everton are understood to have led the race, but The Athletic now claims that Newcastle have made a last-ditch attempt to beat them to the England international.
Several reports suggested that Everton had already agreed a deal with Tottenham for Alli. The Toffees, who appointed Frank Lampard earlier today, will pay £10m when the midfielder plays 20 matches.
Championship side Birmingham City are exploring a late loan move for Newcastle left-back Jamal Lewis, Express Sport understands. The Northern Ireland international has received the green light to pursue regular playing time elsewhere for the remainder of the season following the loan signing of Matt Targett from Aston Villa.Lewis joined Newcastle from Norwich for a fee of £13.5m in 2020 but has failed to fulfil his potential so far at St James' Park, having fallen out of favour under Eddie Howe.Other Championship clubs could yet enter the running with any deal set to go to the wire.

The striker has been linked with Barcelona having been excluded from the Gunners' first-team squad.

The Catalan club have well-documented financial issues and may need the 32-year-old to sign on lower wages.
Tottenham midfielder Tanguy Ndombele has finally earned a move away from the North Londoners with Lyon confirming that they have re-signed the Frenchman.
Ndombele has not found regular game time under four different Spurs bosses.

Arsenal's stance on signing Barcelona forward Ousmane Dembele in return for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has come to light.
According to James Olley, there's 'little prospect' of Dembele being included in Aubameyang's potential loan move to Camp Nou.
Barcelona are trying everything in their power to reduce their wage bill to accommodate the Gabon striker.
And he has travelled to Barcelona to try and force a move through, rather than because a deal has been agreed.
Been told there's little prospect of Dembele being included in any deal with #afc for Aubameyang. Barca having to get creative given wage situation & talks ongoing with #afc over Aubameyang, who flew to Spain more to push through a deal rather than it being a sign of an agreement

He will take charge for the first time this weekend as Everton face Brentford in the FA Cup Fourth Round.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Ndombele will join on a short loan until July, just three years after leaving for Tottenham Hotspur in a deal worth over £50m.
Julien Maynard reports the Ligue 1 club has a buy option worth £54m, which will be available to trigger in the summer.
Manchester United allowing Jesse Lingard to join Newcastle United on a short loan is 'not looking likely', according to BBC Sport's Simon Stone.
His report claims nothing has changed. Newcastle want Lingard, he wants to move to Tyneside, but United's hefty loan demands have been the deciding factor.
The Red Devils want an initial £4m loan fee, with £12.5m extra if Eddie Howe guides his side to safety this season.
That's an outcome that is now looking increasingly possible, given Newcastle's extraordinary January business.
