Ruben Neves: All you need to know about star linked with summer move
Manchester United’s hierarchy believe Ruben Neves would have no trouble adjusting to life at Old Trafford because of the presence of both Cristiano Ronaldo and Bruno Fernandes, reports say. The Wolves midfielder sparkled as his side beat Ralf Rangnick’s team 1-0 on Monday night. Now, a January transfer deal could be on the cards.
Manchester United expected to challenge for the Premier League title when they signed Ronaldo, Jadon Sancho and Raphael Varane back in the summer.
But the Red Devils have endured a nightmare campaign, crumbling under both Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Rangnick so far.
One of United’s biggest issues is their lack of cohesiveness in midfield, with Scott McTominay, Nemanja Matic, Fred, Paul Pogba and Donny van de Beek struggling for consistency.
With that being the case, Neves has found himself back on the club’s radar.
United were heavily linked with the 24-year-old back in the summer but, ultimately, decided to focus on strengthening other areas of their squad instead.
Yet 90min claim they’re eyeing Neves and the club’s hierarchy think he can be a club hit right from the start.

Yet Sanchez found the net just five times before Solskjaer offloaded him to Inter Milan, initially on loan before the player moved to the San Siro permanently.
Under Sir Alex Ferguson, the likes of Zoran Tosic and Manucho also never lived up to expectations.
So Neves will face scrutiny and pressure right from the beginning should he end up joining United this month.
Speaking recently, the Wolves star opened up on his future.
“The future will be seen soon,” he said.
“I like to live in the present and I'm happy, I feel great in Wolverhampton and I'll focus here, because if I do things right I'm sure the future will be bright.”

Wolves boss Bruno Lage, meanwhile, insisted he wanted to keep hold of Neves and other important players.
“It’s not about a contract or money,” said Lage.
“It’s about creating a big team that fights for different things.
"Ruben is in that place where he needs a different challenge.
“And we also want a different challenge for the club. We want to push younger guys, like Ruben, to the next level.”
