Rangnick comments on Martial's Man Utd future amid exit talk
Manchester United have been told they must pay Julian Alvarez’s release clause in full if they’re to sign him in January, according to reports. The River Plate star has been in fantastic form over the past year, scoring 20 goals from 35 Argentine Primera Division matches. A move to Old Trafford seems to be edging closer, despite other European clubs also circling.
Manchester United are currently well-stocked for attacking players.
However, Ralf Rangnick’s team could lose both Anthony Martial and Edinson Cavani when the January transfer window opens next month.
Martial has indicated he’s keen to leave Old Trafford for a new challenge, having blown hot and cold ever since his move from Monaco back in the summer of 2015.
Cavani, meanwhile, has emerged as a transfer target for Barcelona in the wake of Sergio Aguero’s sudden retirement.
With United potentially facing two exits next month, links to River Plate youngster Alvarez have arisen in recent weeks.

Yet Alvarez has enjoyed a fantastic year in his homeland, scoring 20 goals and clocking up 12 assists from 35 league matches.
Bayern Munich, Juventus, Manchester City, Fiorentina and Bayer Leverkusen are all eyeing the 21-year-old as a result.
However, United are also in the frame to sign Alvarez with Rangnick keen to bring the best young talent to the Theatre of Dreams during his time at the helm.
Any deal won’t be straightforward, however, with Clarin.com saying United have been informed they’ll have to pay the player’s release clause in full if they’re to win the race for his signature.

In the years since Ferguson’s retirement, United have continued to get things right sometimes - and wrong on other occasions.
Bruno Fernandes has been a roaring success since moving from Sporting Lisbon in January 2020, weeks after the club missed out on Borussia Dortmund’s Erling Haaland.
Odion Ighalo served a purpose, notching four times for the club during a loan stint.
Yet Alexis Sanchez was a dire disappointment after moving from Arsenal, while the club are still waiting to see the best of Amad.
Speaking recently, meanwhile, Alvarez opened up on his future - and kept his cards close to his chest.
