Newcastle could take full advantage of Man Utd chaos with double transfer swoop
Manchester United sacked Ole Gunnar Solskjaer on Sunday without a plan for who to appoint in the long-term, a situation Newcastle can exploit in January.

It is a warchest they will certainly need to tap into, with Eddie Howe’s men rock bottom of the top-flight having failed to win a game.
One area of the Magpies squad that Howe will look to boost through new signings is in midfield as he seeks to bring in players who are more comfortable with the ball.
And Old Trafford could be the place where Howe finds two new stars of his time, with the chaos around who becomes their next manager offering a prime opportunity.
Donny van de Beek found game time hard to come by under Solskjaer and was thought to be ready to move on from United.

According to Caught Offside, Newcastle have ‘made contract’ around the possibility of signing the Dutchman for £25million.
While United would prefer to loan him out, the lack of a permanent manager to give Van de Beek a definitive answer on his future may convince the midfielder to agitate for an exit.
If Van de Beek does indeed attempt to leave, Newcastle will be there to take full advantage of his unhappiness.
They could exploit a similar situation with Jesse Lingard, with contract talks between the Englishman and United having collapsed.
