Manchester United v Manchester City Match in Pictures
Manchester United reportedly have a verbal agreement with Brendan Rodgers when it comes to replacing Ole Gunnar Solskjaer at Old Trafford. That’s according to Caught Offside, who claim the Red Devils are pushing to appoint the Northern-Irishman right now rather than the end of the season. So Express Sport will now take a look at how United could line up under Rodgers while playing his 3-4-1-2 formation.

Rodgers likes his Leicester side to play with wing-backs.
And that means Diogo Dalot and Luke Shaw could be deployed on the flanks should the Northern-Irishman replace Solskjaer at the club.
Aaron Wan-Bissaka has suffered in recent weeks and the former Crystal Palace star doesn’t seem suited to a three at the back system.
Therefore, Dalot could be the way to go - with Shaw on the opposite flank.
And it’s also possible Rodgers would deploy Paul Pogba alongside Fred in the middle of the park to ensure United have style and substance in that area.

Forwards: Fernandes, Ronaldo, Rashford
Whoever replaces Solskjaer isn’t going to drop Bruno Fernandes.
The Portugal international has been a substantial hit since moving from Sporting Lisbon in January 2020 and, though the goals have dried up, the assists keep coming.
Under Rodgers, United could play Fernandes behind two forwards.
Cristiano Ronaldo should start most matches for the Red Devils, despite the Portugal international entering the twilight years of his career.
And Marcus Rashford would be a good partner in crime for the veteran, having netted three times since returning from injury.

Solskjaer bullish on future
While United reportedly have a verbal agreement with Rodgers, Solskjaer has insisted he’s the right man for the job.
"I have good communication with the club,” he said.
"I want the best for United and as long as I'm here I want to do everything I can to improve this."
And he added: "Very difficult to talk about because we started off badly, passive and when they got the first goal it was always going to be difficult.
"David kept us in the game and they scored a goal they always score.
“They played well and they don't give you opportunities so some praise has to go to them but we were not at our level.”
