Man Utd: Fans protest against Glazers outside Old Trafford
Manchester United’s share prices fell after the news of Newcastle’s Saudi takeover. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side are already struggling to reel in the likes of Manchester City and Chelsea, who have wealthy owners. And the Toon are expected to rise closer to the top in the coming years ahead.
On Thursday, the Premier League confirmed that Newcastle was now under new ownership.
"The Premier League, Newcastle United Football Club and St James Holdings Limited have today settled the dispute over the takeover of the club by the consortium of PIF, PCP Capital Partners and RB Sports & Media,” he said.
"The legal disputes concerned which entities would own and/or have the ability to control the club following the takeover. All parties have agreed the settlement is necessary to end the long uncertainty for fans over the club's ownership.
"The Premier League has now received legally binding assurances that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia will not control Newcastle United Football Club.
"All parties are pleased to have concluded this process which gives certainty and clarity to Newcastle United Football Club and their fans."
And, now, football finance expert Kieran Maguire has claimed United share prices fell in the wake of the news.

“As the markets digested the impact of the Newcastle takeover, Manchester United’s share price fell by another 2.5 per cent knocking another $65m off the value of the company as the realisation that 7 clubs chasing 4 Champions League places is more difficult than 6 into 4,” he said on Twitter.
United will now have to compete with Newcastle.
And, though they have the finances to do that, the Toon’s new ownership has made them serious rivals for the future.
Newcastle now have plenty of money in the bank and, consequently, a host of players have been linked with moves to St James’ Park.
One player they could move for is Barcelona’s Philippe Coutinho.
