The Portugal international has been named on the bench by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer for this afternoon’s showdown with Everton at Old Trafford. They’ve done well enough in the league, winning four of their opening six matches with a draw and defeat against Southampton and Everton respectively their only set-backs.
But they’ve been erratic in other competitions, exiting the Carabao Cup and losing to Young Boys in the Champions League.
Ronaldo did, however, spare them from more criticism by striking the winner against Villarreal.
And, after that match, he sent a message to the club’s supporters.
“Sometimes the players, we try to do our job, to play good and score goals but sometimes it is not possible,” he said.
