Liverpool have been urged to sign Renato Sanches by former player Jose Enrique. The Spanish full-back turned pundit says that the Portuguese midfielder is the perfect fit for Jurgen Klopp’s style.
Sanches impressed in the 2-2 Euro 2020 draw with France on Wednesday evening, holding his own in a midfield battle against N’Golo Kante and Paul Pogba.
And Enrique believes that the 23-year-old has the tactical profile that Liverpool need as they search for midfield reinforcements.
Dutch midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum left Anfield for Paris Saint-Germain this summer, and Enrique says that Sanches – who won Ligue 1 with Lille last season – would make the ideal replacement.
“This is the man I want to replace Gini,” Enrique wrote. He steps up on the big stage.
“This man is an absolute engine & knows how to dictate a midfield like Gini did. He’s physically a level above others, he seems like a perfect fit for Klopp. He also has that creative aspect which Gini had.”
The 36-year-old has been linked with a transfer away from Juventus, with a return to Manchester United on the cards.
And Portugal and Man Utd midfielder Bruno Fernandes has revealed that Old Trafford still holds a special place in Ronaldo’s heart.
“Every time I speak with him, he asks me how Manchester is and if everything is okay,” Fernandes said.
“Everyone knows he spent a lot of time in Manchester and he has consideration for the club.
"He likes the club, I think he won his first Ballon d’Or here, so it’s a club who’ve marked him, for sure.”
