Man Utd not meeting Sancho asking price is 'bizarre' says Cross
Manchester United are on the verge of snapping up Jadon Sancho, at long last. The club have spent four years tailing the Borussia Dortmund star, who has taken the Bundesliga by storm ever since his move from Manchester City in 2017. And, in that time, United have also signed four alternatives after missing out on the 21-year-old.
United wanted to sign Sancho back in the summer transfer window of 2019, with Solskjaer making the Dortmund star a priority.
However, with the club failing to qualify for the Champions League that year, the 21-year-old had no interest in a move to Old Trafford.
So that forced United into snapping up Daniel James from Swansea instead, with the Wales international becoming the first signing of the Solskjaer era.
The Wales international has done steadily, if unspectacularly, throughout his two years at the Theatre of Dreams.
And the arrival of Sancho is set to see the forward, who is currently at Euro 2020, fall further down his manager’s pecking order.

United waited until late in the summer transfer window of 2020 before shelving interest in Sancho and going for Edinson Cavani instead.
The Uruguay international had been a free agent all summer long but it wasn’t until deadline day that his move was officially confirmed.
Cavani took a while to adjust to English football, especially after not playing since March.
But the 34-year-old ended the campaign in fine form, making himself Solskjaer’s main striker in the process ahead of Anthony Martial.
Big things are expected of Cavani this season, though United would still like another striker regardless with a deal for Cristiano Ronaldo not ruled out.
