Liverpool: The first six fixtures of the new Premier League season
Kostas Tsimikas appears set to bring his nightmare spell at Liverpool to a temporary end after having never convinced Reds boss Jurgen Klopp. The left-back was signed for a fee in the region of £12million from Greek side Olympiakos a year ago.
But he has been limited to just seven appearances by the form of Andy Robertson and a succession of injuries.
Of those seven outings, just three were starts, with the Greek international having played only six minutes of Premier League football over the campaign just gone.
Tsimikas became a regular at Olympiakos, winning four league titles and being named player of the year in 2020.
But his form in his home country has failed to translate to Merseyside, with Robertson well ahead of him in the pecking order.

With Robertson in such good form having become one of Klopp’s most trusted players, a way into Liverpool’s team appears unlikely for Tsimikas.
It now appears that he could be offered an escape route, with Gazzetta Dello Sport reporting that Napoli are eyeing up a loan move.
The Serie A side are said to hope that the 25-year-old can be the “solution” to their ‘cursed’ position of left-back.
Luciano Spalletti’s side are in the market for a fullback but have seen their options limited by owner Aurelio de Laurentiis’ decision to block any incoming moves before departures take place.

It would be a move long in the making, with Napoli having been one of the interested parties when Tsimikas departed Olympiakos last year.
Gazzetta Dello Sport state that the Italian side have continued to monitor him as he struggled to break into Klopp’s plans.
The Greek appears to have failed to do that, with the Italian newspaper stating that he has “never convinced” the German, with a loan move increasingly seen as the perfect solution.
It is thought the Reds hope such a move could allow the left-back to further develop and gain precious game time.
