Man Utd: Solskjaer reacts to Haaland breaking record
Manchester United want to sign Erling Haaland when the transfer window reopens. The Borussia Dortmund star is Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s top target, especially after seeing the likes of Mason Greenwood and Anthony Martial struggle for consistency. And the Red Devils have already overcome four obstacles when it comes to signing the forward.
United are now working with a different structure in place.
While Ed Woodward is still very much the supremo at Old Trafford, he’s allocated some of his power to John Murtough - making him their first football director.
And Murtough, according to the Manchester Evening News, agrees with Solskjaer when it comes to a deal for Haaland.
That bodes well for the future.
With everybody singing off the same hymn sheet, it means the United boss is unlikely to face any internal obstacles when it comes to getting a deal done.

He’s been pretty critical of both United and Solskjaer’s handling of Paul Pogba, despite the France international appearing to be happy enough at the Theatre of Dreams.
But United have done their bit by refusing to engage the super-agent in a war of words.
Had Raiola aimed shots at Jose Mourinho, the current Tottenham boss would likely have responded with some snarling and cutting comments. It is his style at times, after all.
But Solskjaer has toed the line. There’s been no strong response from the Norwegian and while some may perceive that to be weak, it’s definitely a positive.

Making it known they admire him
Most of the time, Solskjaer opts against praising opposition players.
But he’s already shown Haaland just how much he rates him, publicly talking up the Dortmund star.
He said recently: “It is clear that Erling is going to have a fantastic career.
“I follow Erling. I have always said that. Was it 18 months we had together or something like that?
“Almost two years, perhaps. A fantastic time. He will surely have a super career both for Norway and his club. He is doing incredibly well for Dortmund.
“We will see where he ends up. As a Norwegian and someone who has worked with him, it is of course great that he is doing so well.”

Raiola’s recent claim
Raiola recently claimed that just 10 clubs on the planet could afford Haaland.
"It is obvious that everybody is looking at Erling as one of those potential new future stars because it's so difficult to do what he does at his age at his level," he said.
"He will be one of the future stars of the next decade because we see that stars such as Ibrahimovic, Ronaldo and Messi are coming to an age where everyone asks themselves: 'How long can we still enjoy them?' So everyone is looking for the new generation.
"Only a maximum of 10 clubs can afford to buy [Haaland] and give the platform you would like after you've been in Dortmund… and four of those clubs are in [England].
"I don't think there's a sports director or trainer in the world who would say 'not interested'.
“It's like saying: 'Is there a Formula 1 team who would not be interested in having Lewis Hamilton?'"
