Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho was pleased with the performance of his players against Manchester City despite suffering his heaviest Premier League defeat as Spurs boss. Mourinho saw his side lose 3-0 at the Etihad thanks to a first-half penalty from Rodri and a brace from Ilkay Gundogan.
Tottenham are now eighth in the table, four points off the top four.
The north London side are now in a fight to qualify for next season's Champions League after harbouring hopes of a title push earlier in the campaign.
Both City and Tottenham had midweek FA Cup action, though Spurs were forced to play extra time in their dramatic 5-4 exit to Everton.
Mourinho said his players were clearly tired but singled out Harry Kane, Ben Davies and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg as three players who epitomised his team's attitude.

Tottenham news: Jose Mourinho is aiming to win Spurs their first trophy since 2008 (Image: EXPRESS)
"I had guys in a difficult situation on the pitch but they were brave.
"A team that is not united, not together would give up and would be punished but I saw guys like Harry Kane, Ben Davies, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg giving everything.
"I have nothing to say against my players, not even a couple of mistakes that are always present."
It was Hojbjerg who brought down Gundogan in the first half to allow City to take the lead from the spot.
But Mourinho was not impressed with the decision to give the penalty.
"A modern penalty is one where even if you touch with a nail it can be a penalty," he continued.
"It depends on the opponent. For some you touch with a nail it is a penalty, and the VAR cannot deny there is a touch with the toe or the nail or the nose. You cannot deny there is contact.
"We had nothing in our favour. But the second half was very difficult."
