Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel has been told he needs to compete for trophies right away after taking over from Frank Lampard. Tuchel will see his side face off against Burnley on Sunday in his second match at the helm.
Tuchel has a significant job ahead of him at Chelsea after taking over as head coach.
The German boss replaced Lampard last week after the club’s hierarchy called time on the club legend’s time at Stamford Bridge.
Lampard was sacked due to the club’s position in the league table, with Blues officials unhappy with his lack of a plan to get them out of their poor run of form.
Chelsea chiefs wanted him to close the gap on last season’s runaway leaders Liverpool and previous champions Manchester City, but were forced to act after the Blues flirted with dropping into the bottom half.

Club owner Roman Abramovich is notorious for his ruthless attitude towards managers, and expects them to be constantly collecting silverware.
And despite being in tenth spot in the Premier League table, it’s no different for Tuchel who has been told in no uncertain terms to start fighting for trophies.
The German head coach admitted he had been told that he will need to compete in the Premier League and Champions League right away.
Tuchel said: “She told me very clearly that, if you sign for Chelsea, you need to definitely compete for trophies.

“This club is about trophies and this club is about competing, and the two most difficult competitions you compete in are the Premier League and Champions League.
“But there is no secret, if I play with Dortmund, with PSG, with Chelsea in the Champions League, I don’t play to reach the quarter-final.
“I play a quarter-final to reach the semi-final, I play a semi-final to reach a final and, when I am in the final, I play to win.
“We can just admit it — on this level, nobody steps into any competition to be second.
