Chelsea: Frank Lampard says he is ‘frustrated’ after Saints draw
Chelsea boss Frank Lampard has insisted Petr Cech won't face Manchester United on Saturday. The Czech Republic international was named in the Blues' squad for their Premier League campaign in midweek. But, though Kepa Arrizabalaga is sidelined through injury, Cech won't be travelling to the match.
Chelsea boss Lampard sprung a major surprise in midweek by naming Cech in his Premier League squad.
The Czech Republic international retired upon leaving Arsenal in the summer of 2019 and has been working at Stamford Bridge in the time since.
Chelsea drafted Cech in to provide cover for both Kepa and Edouard Mendy, with Lampard saying at the time: "Pete’s been training with the goalkeepers for a little while.
"He spends a lot of days with them, which is invaluable for his experience, helps us in training, helps me to know that he’s passing on that quality and experience to the goalkeepers.
"We had a spare space in the squad, we know this year is like no other because of Covid and what it might do to selection and isolation through the year.
"So it was a very easy one. Pete still does his day job but he’s there if we need him."

And Lampard has admitted he’s seeing signs that things are starting to come together at Stamford Bridge, with Werner and Kai Havertz shining in their last league outing against Southampton.
“I am seeing some signs of that, but people came in with injuries,” he said.
“I am seeing signs but I am not jumping ahead. I knew it would take some time.
“I expect us to get better. It's not perfect to have new players with no pre-season.
