Manchester United’s chances of signing either Edinson Cavani or Luka Jovic this summer are both slim, but for different reasons. Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano explained on Thursday that United are unlikely to sign either striker.

The veteran is currently without a club, but Romano reports that the 33-year-old wants a long-term contract with a “huge” wage, and for that reason United aren’t pursuing him.
Jovic, on the other hand, would more than likely only be available on loan.
The striker only signed for Real Madrid last summer in a deal reported to be worth a whopping £59million.
However, he failed to find his feet at the Bernabeu and has been offered to clubs by Madrid this summer.

“If we arrive at Monday and they don’t have any other options, they can consider him.
“At the moment it’s not advanced. He has been offered, the same with Cavani, Cavani has been offered to Manchester United but he wants a long-term deal and a huge wage.
“That’s why Manchester United are considering other options.
“You always have to remember 100+ players are offered every month, so it’s normal.”
