The Sun claims Chelsea are plotting a bid in excess of £40m because they believe West Ham are struggling for cash.
The Hammers have been relatively quiet so far this summer, and their only business so far was to pay the £14m required to make ThomasSouceck’sloan deal permanent.
Last week, West Ham co-owner David Sullivan admitted they might not make any signings before the October 5th deadline because of a lack of funds.
And Chelsea are ready to take advantage of that situation by making a bid within the coming days.

Chelsea are keen to offload players before the window closes after forking out nearly £250m on new recruits, and have reportedly madeN’GoloKante available for sale.
Reports this week claimed Inter Milan boss Antonio Conte has asked the Italian club to sign Kante and is keen to reunite with the midfielder.
But speaking afterInter’s3-2 win over Fiorentina on Saturday, Inter Milan chief Piero Ausilio downplayed those suggestions.
He said: “Kante is not on the market, he’s a starter at Chelsea.
“We’re not in talks for him also because we’ve already 8 midfielders in our team.”
