Philippe Coutinho 'has no place in first team' says expert
Philippe Coutinho is a player in limbo. Barcelona don’t want him back, Bayern Munich won’t be signing him permanently and most clubs in Europe are keen to stay clear. Arsenal aren’t among them, however, and can offer him something exciting: a starring role in Mikel Arteta’s Gunners revolution.

Their current playmaker, Mesut Ozil, can’t get a look-in under Arteta with the Gunners eager to cut the Germany international loose this summer.
Arsenal don’t have a Kevin De Bruyne or Bruno Fernandes, who are capable of conjuring magic with Manchester City and Manchester United.
But Coutinho could change all that.
If he were to move to Arsenal he’d be guaranteed regular minutes.
And that’s something neither Barcelona or Bayern Munich can provide him, which is why he won’t be at either club by the time the transfer window shuts.
Coutinho was at his best when he was talisman. At Liverpool, he was often their best player over the likes of Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino.
And Arsenal can give him that status.
The prospect of Coutinho creating chances for Pierre-Emerick Aubmeyang to finish seems mouthwatering and, in Arteta’s eyes, that’s a partnership that can propel them back to the top.
There have been murmurs the Brazil international is actually hoping to return to Liverpool this transfer window.
But they can’t offer him what Arsenal can: regular football, a platform to prove his worth and a role as one of the first names on the team sheet.
Whether Arsenal are successful in bringing him to the Emirates is something only time will tell.
But Arteta has made it clear he wants the Samba star in his squad for next season and the Spaniard’s excellent man-management could prove key.
Coutinho isn’t the only player Arsenal want.
They’re also hopeful of recruiting Willian, who is poised to leave Chelsea on a free transfer having failed to sign a contract extension at Stamford Bridge.
But who Arteta ends up with remains to be seen.
